Once Upon a Trail is a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure story that takes place while you, the reader, are walking on a trail through the woods at midnight. You're trying to prove that the Pseudomanic Woods, an imaginary forest full of many different monsters, aren't real. The only things you have, other than your paper map, are the items in your backpack: a bronze dagger, an iron dagger, and a silver dagger. Once you venture off the trail, a heavy fog settles across the landscape. After that, absolutely nothing matches the landmarks on your map, so attempt to navigate without it. Then, you come across three strange trees and can make thirteen different choices based on the information you have. Each choice leads to a plot introduction, which is followed by three or more endings. Sometimes you live, sometimes you die, but you're never truly gone from the story regardless. Throughout each plot, the monsters do and avoid strange things that don't make sense to you. In the epilogue, the reasons behind this are revealed to you indirectly. However, a large responsibility is placed on your shoulders soon after this shocking discovery. What will you do? The ending is in your hands.
